The file DATASET_Duteiletal2012BG.tar contains the data repository related to the publication: Duteil, O., Koeve, W., Oschlies, A., Aumont, O., Bianchi, D., Bopp, L., Galbraith, E., Matear, R., Moore, J. K., Sarmiento, J. L. und Segschneider, J. (2012) Preformed and regenerated phosphate in ocean general circulation models: can right total concentrations be wrong? Biogeosciences (BG), 9 . pp. 1797-1807. DOI 10.5194/bg-9-1797-2012. The repository includes the following model output files. - CCSM3BEC.nc - CSIRO.nc - MOMP2A.nc - MPIHAMOCC.nc - OM1P7BLING.nc - OPAPISCES.nc - UVIC.nc An observational dataset is also included: WOA.nc Each file contains the following variables : - O2 (oxygen : mmol.m-3) - O2SAT (oxygen saturation : mmol.m-3) - PO4 (phosphate : mmol.m-3) - TMP (temperature: degC) - SAL (salinity: psu) - AOU (apparent oxygen utilization: mmol.m-3) : computed as O2SAT-O2 - remPO4 (remineralized PO4: mmol.m-3): computed as AOU * 1/170 - prePO4 (preformed PO4: mmol.m-3): computed as PO4 - remPO4 The original model output was on different horizontal and vertical, partly irregular, grids. As described in our paper, model output was first regridded onto a regular 1*1 degree grid, i.e. the grid of the observational dataset World Ocean Atlas, 2009, WOA. The regridded dataset was used in the analysis and is given in this repository. The model output represents annually averaged tracer distributions at model equilibrium, i.e. after several thousand years of model spin-up. The format of the files is Netcdf. You may find software to read netcdf files and visualize their content at http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/software.html. We recommend the free software Ferret (http://ferret.wrc.noaa.gov/Ferret/).
